How BuildingJobs works
We collect public information about live jobs and upcoming projects across 17+ cities in the UK, verify it, and organise it by city and trade. So you see who needs your services today and which projects are likely to need them next.
Two lists, one place
Live jobs are work you can take on today. Upcoming projects are work that has not been handed out yet.
Now
Live jobs
A live job is a real piece of work that someone wants doing now: a rewire, a new roof, a bathroom, a site that needs labour next week. They are posts from homeowners, landlords, contractors and businesses.
How you use live jobs
- 1
Search your city and trade
Sort and filter the results to find the jobs most relevant to you.
- 2
Open the job
Read what is needed, where and when.
- 3

Members see the contact details or can deal directly with the poster.

Upcoming projects
An upcoming project is a development that is on its way: a housing scheme with planning approval, a school extension going out to tender, a warehouse in pre-construction. Nobody has posted a job yet. We find these in public records so you can get in before the work is handed out.
How you use upcoming projects
- 1
Search your city and trade
Filter by stage and estimated value to find projects at the right point for you.
- 2
Check the stage
Procurement is the window to act: the project is looking for contractors right now.
- 3
Speak to the right people
Members see who is behind the project and the documents, so you can make contact before the tender closes.
Example
Estimated value
£100k–£250k
Stage
What you see
Everyone, for free
- What is being built and roughly where
- The stage it has reached, from submitted to under construction
- An estimated value and the trades it is likely to need
Members
- Contact the client, developer or main contractor behind it
- Planning and tender documents and the original sources
- Every project in your city (Basic) or all 17 named cities (Premium)
Where a project is in its life
Every upcoming project shows its stage. The earlier the stage, the more time you have; procurement is when contractors are being chosen.
Submitted
The idea is submitted for consideration.
Approved
The project is approved in principle.
Pre-construction
Plans are developed and costs are estimated.
Procurement
The project is in the market for contractors.
Under construction
The build is underway on site.
Every project answers four questions
What is this?
Understand what is being built and where.
Why should I care?
See the value, timescale and likely trades.
Who should I speak to?
Find the client, agent or decision maker.
Why might now be useful?
Know the stage and what happens next.
Estimated values, likely trades and timing are BuildingJobs analysis, not confirmed tender information.
